What do Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway have in common? All these countries showcase perfect homes. Spaces featuring Scandinavian design are super stylish but not in an ornate kind of way. Also known as the Nordic design, Scandinavian design is all about keeping most design elements subdued. Scandinavian Design: A History

The Scandinavian Textures

Many people find themselves living in homes with an open floor plan. These days, if you still do not have one but are thinking of jumping on the bandwagon, then you have to consider which walls to tear down or to cut away from. An open space layout does not necessarily translate into rooms that are not properly defined. Say no to the temptation of lining up your walls with furniture. Instead, use area rugs to define the conversation clusters in your living area. Doing so will let you add coziness and warmth to your home, making it a lot more inviting.
