There are – without a doubt – many benefits to living in a condominium. While many of us anticipate investing and living in a dream house, the condominium can have many surprising and logical benefits. Of course, this will always depend on the size of the family’s finance and where they intend to be situated. Overall, though, there are many ayes more than the nays.
Low-maintenance Is Good
If you are not a huge fan of mowing the lawn or trimming plants, trees, and bushes, then living in a condo might just be for you. One of the awesome perks of condo living is having someone else take care of the maintenance works. Just pay your monthly dues and you’re done.
These maintenance works include re-roofing, the removal of snow, and those unexpected repairs.
Yes to Extra Amenities
Residents of condominiums often share wonderful amenities like pools, workout facilities, and party rooms. You can enjoy all these without having to worry yourself about their maintenance. In fact, condo owners even enjoy added security which is provided to them by the association. This makes condo owners feel a lot safer than when they are living alone, somewhere.
Living in Prime Neighborhoods
You can also capitalize on the location of your condo property. Most of the condominium units are now located in prime neighborhoods that are close to shopping malls, restaurants, work districts, and transport terminals.
These are desirable locations which can help increase the actual value of your condo property, in essence, owning a unit means making a sound financial investment.
Condo living is not for everyone, though. But if you have decided to own one, then here are a few tips on how you can optimize your chosen lifestyle –

Hooker Furniture Accents Fido Large Dog Bed: The perfect bed for your furry friend.
Prepare to Live in a Populated District
Once you sign up to own a condominium unit, then you must also be prepared to live a different lifestyle. First, you will be in the middle of a social hub (because most condo buildings are built in the middle of work and shopping districts. While you can enjoy city lights, you are also bound to literally rub elbows with a lot of people.
The best thing about being in close proximity to one’s work is that you can still spend some time with your friends even after a long, tiresome day at the office.
Be Independent
Another upside to the condo lifestyle is that you’re able to live an independent lifestyle. No one can dictate or impose anything on you-you are your own boss. While you do this, you are also stepping out of your comfort zone. Now, you are an independent adult.
Live Within a Budget
Cutting back on costs is essential but this does not have to be your food budget. Do not exist on burgers all the time as this will eventually ruin your health. Also, eating out costs more than when you prepare your own meals.
Prepare sandwiches and salads for those moments when you really don’t have time to cook. If you have amazing cooking skills, then put them to the test.
Budgeting is an art. Create a basic checklist for your grocery shopping.
Live Life
Choosing a condominium as your new home does not necessarily equate to having dozing in sleeping quarters. This is not your huge bedroom – this is your home. And since this is your new home, you might as well live in it.
While you have to adapt to certain ways of living, you must never forget that this is also your habitat so you can dress it up according to your preferences and needs.

The warm colors of this dining set from Fine Furniture Design Biltmore Collection are all that you need to welcome your guests in your new patio.
There are many areas in every home that can offer a good view of the outdoors. Just think of expansive glass windows, the sunroom or a bright skylight – all these offer wonderful opportunities to enjoy the outdoors without actually stepping out of your home. However, when you’re hoping to catch a whiff of fresh air while still maintaining your private moments, then there is no better place than the patio.
Patio: A Travel Back in Time
Many prehistoric communities already have plazas. These are gathering places where people sell their goods and where political events, as well as rituals, are held. Dances, games, and all other forms of social interaction also happen here.
There is a wide range of open spaces. These include the tiny ones up to the enormous zones that archeologists simply marvel about. Though plazas often have similar functions, the smaller types have a more intimate and a slightly different use for the community.
The patio is also known as the courtyard. This is an area that was set aside for private residences or inside family compounds. It is used mainly for domestic purposes such as family meals eaten outside or craft production.
The word patio comes from patere, a Latin word meaning to lie open, though the architecture originated in Spain or Spanish-American features. During the 15th century in Spain, the boxed central patios became more and more popular. Pretty soon, it was embellished with bluestone, bricks, gravel, and just about any material that the mind can conjure.
Unlike the porch, a patio can be detached from the structure. It can be left open or be installed with a pergola overhead. Consider how to access this place when you’re thinking of setting up a patio for dining or any social gathering.
Patio Decoration Made Simple
There are fundamentals in patio building. First, you must make a list of weather-friendly furniture. This means furniture pieces that can hold up to the harsh outdoor elements.
Outdoor entertaining requires prepping unless you want everything in plastic which is, of course, a total eyesore. So what are the pieces that you need?
Lastly, as you welcome everyone to your new patio, make sure that you also prep some games. Spur laughter and fun as people play with your well-prepped party.

What’s a table lamp without a beautiful place to put it on? Featured here is the Hooker Furniture Living Room Preston Ridge Lamp Table.
Gone are those days when fixtures in lighting are always the floor lamps that come with a shade and a standard base. Lighting fixtures have definitely evolved into the more beautiful, exceptional statement pieces that they are now.
Statement lights now come with color-changing abilities. Some even make use of the inverter technology, still others come in various designs, shapes, colors, materials, and whatnot.
Whether you want lighting fixtures that are standing or hanging, there are now many choices with regard to the statement that you would want to project through lighting. First, though, you need to consider a few things so that you are ascertained that the lighting fixture you invest in will fit a room in your home.
Establish a Lighting Plan
This can take as much as eight weeks to prepare. Since you’re trying to make a lasting statement through lighting, then you must be ready to spend a little more time in planning your lighting scheme.
Choose from a variety of fixtures – you will see a lot. And just like good food, quality lighting can take time to choose and eventually ship. Your choices will be greater when you plan eight weeks ahead rather than just three weeks.
That extra time will also help buffer tasks such as shipping and the installation.
Not Just Pretty
There isn’t a single design that can be referred to as the perfect lighting fixture for your home. You need to assess what you want, what works perfectly for your room, and what your budget can buy.
Remember, though, that lighting has a profound effect on what you feel as well as how you behave so be sure to choose wisely. Don’t buy a fixture just because it looked pretty inside the showroom. Consider effects such as how it will enhance (or destroy) your interior design. This fixture needs to be cohesive with the rest of your design elements.
Find a lighting budget that will satiate your functional and aesthetic lighting needs.
Talk to a Lighting Specialist
Most interior designers have lighting partners or they can at least refer you to one whom they trust. This professional is not just an electrician who can repair lighting fixtures or restore them. He is someone who is comfortable in working with and setting up lighting systems. He is also the one that you would call when it’s time to maintain the lights in your home.
This specialist must also comprehend how the lighting system will work with the rest of the design elements in your home.

Maitland-Smith Lamps and Lighting Verdigris Finished Resin Frog Desk Lamp, Faux Tortoise Shell Inlaid Globe 1700-219: What kind of personality does this cute lamp evoke?
Do Layer
Layering your lights is an approach that’s highly fashionable, after all, supermodels do layer their wardrobe.
Lighting needs to change as you progress through the day and as you do different activities. The lighting that you require when you are working on your assignment should not be the same light that you would use when it’s time to celebrate your wedding anniversary with a romantic, candlelit dinner.
Always think of lighting with regard to spatial organization which is divided into – ground lighting, mid-range lighting, and ceiling lights.
Ceiling Information
Before you even go out and choose fixtures, why not define the style of your ceiling first. Measure the ceiling height and determine the materials used to reinforce your ceiling. Find out also if you have ceiling insulation.
Know Your Lamp Options
This is no longer the time of Thomas Alba Edison. You now have more choices so go ahead and pick your lamp based on its efficiency, aesthetics, and function.
Incandescent lights offer warmer, broader spectrum though they gobble up electricity. Halogen is also an incandescent bulb which renders the true colors of things. This is why it is used to illuminate artworks.
Fluorescent lighting, on the other hand, makes use of electricity to stimulate mercury vapor. LED or light-emitting diode lamps offer longer service lives and are also energy efficient.

The Uttermost Lamps and Lighting Antrim 1 Light Bronze Sconce is the best decorative element for a room that retains its beauty while not eating up any space.
Small bedrooms are a tad trickier to dress up. If you’re not careful, you could even end up with a space that you detest. Yet with a little personality and a little spunk, plus much common sense, you should be able to make a small bedroom into a haven.
The typical master bedroom can easily accommodate a chest of drawers, cabinets, tables, ottomans, and a huge bed. The little bedroom, well, not so much. What you need to learn here is to make good use of every square inch.
Think of function plus aesthetics. So, what should you do?
Do It Boutique Style
Many boutique hotels have small rooms but guests are okay with it because the rooms are well-decorated. So go ahead and have padded headboards, add some plush carpeting and pillows, put some colorful throws. Throw in a duvet to make it more special.
If space allows, add a bedside table or two complete with small shelves.
The secret is to have a scaled-down luxury room in your home.
Decorate the Headboard
What’s a padded headboard if it remains boring? Use whatever limited space all around the headboard and decorate it with pictures of your family’s travels. You can also display books on floating shelves, have then color-coded to make it a more appealing sight to look at.
A gender-neutral scheme that’s easy to set up is the blue and green theme. Add these dominant bright colors to a neutral or white room. Just stick to two hues so that your bedroom will not look too cluttered or chaotic.
Two Bedroom for the Size of One
Do not always presume that a single, small bedroom will not be able to hold two beds. With just the right two single beds (the narrowest design that you could find). And always remember not to compromise on style.
To make the narrow bedroom work, consider having painted brickwork and a rug that adds a graphic-industrial sort of look. If you want to save on space, use wall lights instead of setting up a floor or table lamp.
All Eyes to the Accent Wall
Another thing to consider is adding an accent wall. This can help break the monotonous feeling that all four walls with the same color could bring. Paint your feature wall with a color that represents you. Just make sure that you don’t paint it with something that would excite you when you are supposed to be resting in your bedroom.

The star of the show is the streamlined, unassuming yet cozy Hooker Furniture Bedroom Pacifica King Upholstered Bed.
Amply Decorate
Having a smaller bedroom does not equate to having less decoration. An undersigned room is just as boring as a cluttered one.
Don’t hold your horses when it comes to bedroom decoration. Bring in the design elements that make bigger bedrooms worthy to look at. These include rugs, framed photographs, and decorative lighting.
No Ornate Handles Please
Never go for cabinets with ornate handles. What you have is a snug sleeping area so have a minimalist cabinet instead, preferably one that comes with a glossy finish.
Your bed should have the simplest frame so that it will take the least amount of space in your compact bedroom.
Design Laterally
While others would tell you to go vertical, hold your horses yet again. You can still design horizontally for as long as you have a dual purpose for the bulkier furnishings. For instance, a bed that doubles as a desk is an awesome addition to a small bedroom. So is a draw out bed from beneath the actual bed. ‘Think of sleepovers with your best friends.
That Reflective Surface
It’s called a mirror and it offers the oldest trick in interior design which is to make a room appear larger than it really is. Installing mirrors on your cabinet doors is a wonderful way to open up your bedroom space.

Tommy Bahama Home Bedroom Candaleria Poster Bed 6_6 King 552-174C: Poster beds are effortlessly regal.
How many times have you seen regal bedrooms in your entire life? Those rooms did catch your attention surely because they were majestic rather than tacky. After all, any regal bedroom, when done incorrectly would look like the owner tried a little too hard.
Regal bedrooms are not easy to pull off. No fret, though, you can still do it right. Here are some inspirations that can jumpstart your regal bedroom project –
The Italian Touch
What could be more luxurious than cream textile upholstery complete with gold fittings? You can create the classic Italian bedroom by having a bed that’s created by artisans. No matter if that’s a double bed or a sprawling king sized bed, this ensemble must always include a pouf, chair, and a table.
The two dressers must also be present as are the headboard, and pouf upholstery.
Purple is a lovely color to add in an Italian boudoir. Mix it with cream and gold and you’ve effortlessly created a majestic bedroom.
Glittering Gold
Another color that is elegant is gold especially when you use it on ornate furniture pieces.
Just imagine your majestic bedroom filled with opulent furnishings – golden or with a tinge of this yellow shade.
Be sure to combine the artistic framework of the bedframe with the thick tapestries. To create a breathtaking and harmonious ensemble, be sure to contrast the window treatments with the gold furniture.
If you have golden, metallic furniture, then opt for dark draperies (e.g. black tapestries).
Captivating Cream
A palace-inspired bedroom would do well to consider cream curtains. Instead of the usual default white curtains, why not experiment with the soft textures of cream curtains?
This is a minimalist way to frame the bed which is, after all, the star of the boudoir. Install these lovely curtains against mauve walls to achieve a regal atmosphere.
Grecian Charm
The Greeks are not just great philosophers, they are also amazing interior designers. The small Grecian touches that you add in a bedroom can make a huge difference.
But what are these features?
Greek homes feature whitewashed walls combined with blue-colored windows. You can do this in your Grecian bedroom, too. Complete the look by adding area rugs with striped patterns and flowers.
As for the furnishings, go for wooden furniture like tripod stools and tables. Add some glazed potteries in one corner.

A touch of gold will make a huge difference. Featured accent piece is the Uttermost Accessories Serrano Mirrored Wall Art 04065.
Go Baroque
Baroque style is meant to emphasize the pompousness of style. Literally translated from Italian, it actually means pretentiousness.
Add luxurious linens such as velvet, silk, and brocade. Finish with tapestries, rich ceilings, and stucco walls. You can also add Baroque wall paintings, sculptures, and statues.
Baroque bedroom, more specifically, features carved furniture. The ceiling must be decorated with stucco. There must also be heavy curtains and none of the sheer types.
The color palette for the Baroque boudoir must be dominantly burgundy, beige, red, bold, and shades of brown.
Your Dream Bedroom
Many Hollywood stars have the most beautiful homes because most of them grew up visualizing these dream habitats. It would be pointless to put boundaries on your style. After all, this is your regal bedroom so go all out without being trying hard.
Go for the usually majestic shades of purple. Use this color on your bed headboard, chairs, vase, curtains, table top, lamp, even the flowers.
Majestic White
Could white be ideal as a color palette for the bedroom?
Why not? The master bedroom could be regal with white bed linens arranged with a white bedroom, bedside tables, white walls, white window treatments, and white flooring.
Shabby chic as others would call it or if it is for a feminine dweller. It can also be Scandinavian or Nordic if used in a family bedroom.

FIne Furniture Regal Double Pedestal Dining Table: The beautiful marriage of neutral colors in this dining room is difficult to ignore.
The beginning of a majestic design process always comes with the initial consultation. This is that moment when you meet up with the design experts and have an ocular visit of your home. This initial consult could also happen inside the designer’s studio which is the case when the house is going to be constructed or if a vacation home is to be set up.
An interior designer’s first interaction requires getting to know as much information about their client as possible. They have to know their desired outcomes, personalities, the timeframe for the project, and the budget.
Your selection of a design team also means looking for past clients. These are the people who can attest to the real portfolio of your chosen design team. Ask if the past clients were satisfied with the end result. Ask also if the builders have their license.
Warranty and service are also two things that you need to ask before signing any papers. Tour the model homes that they have made. The number of years that they have worked also count.
It is also important for the design team to know how the space will be used, discuss functionality as well as aesthetics. As a team, the client should specify the next meeting’s major task and what jobs to prioritize.
Find a design team that does not require a consultation fee or, at the very least, have a low asking price. The initial consultation should be a means to see if you and the team are a good fit. If you want the design team to take on the project a hundred-percent and you would just move in once it’s done, then specify that to them, too.
Material Selection
Another necessary step of the design process is the material selection phase. The design team will lay all of the options to you by this time. Be sure to give an honest feedback so that you will end up liking the materials used in your home.
While design teams try to get the material selection right the first time, there are also instances when some of the choices need to be revisited especially when they deviate from the desired outcome.
Estimation
The third step of the design process is the approximation of the project cost. Individual materials and products will be lined up so you can make your choice and make a final decision on what items to use. Take a careful look at all the alternatives before you make your final decision.
Most design teams will ask for a deposit once you sign the contract with them. This is the money that they will use to begin ordering the materials that you agreed to use for the project.
Implementation
This is the phase when actual construction will take place. You are bound to meet plumbers, electricians, flooring installers, wall experts, painters, general contractors, etc.
If you have your own set of experts whom you prefer to work with, then let the contractor know.
Final Inspection
So what should you expect once the construction is done?
Your builder must offer one last walkthrough before he hands over the structure to you. Have a blue painter’s tape with you during this walkthrough. This will serve as your marker as you point out anything that should be improved or was not done according to your specifications.
The builder should be able to correct these marked areas. It is your right to ask who will do the final work. There are builders who assign a dedicated team to complete the final items.
Keep a record of these marked items so that you can have another walkthrough once the project is really done.

Enjoy the warm, fall colors in this bedroom. Featured here is the Bedford Pineapple Post King Bed.
Fall is here. With it comes the holidays – from Halloween, to Thanksgiving, and eventually, Christmas. You need to prepare not only to warm up your home but also to stylize it so that it reflects the beauty of Mother Nature outdoors. Say hello to your fall interior design.
You can go classic with the usual decorative items – pumpkins, fallen leaves or candles. You could even decorate your porch with paper lanterns in warm colors (e.g. yellow or orange). But all these are on the so-called décor default.
There is so much more to fall decorating than putting pumpkins out front or installing door wreaths.
Summer to Fall
The transformation from summer to fall can be made easier. You can begin by updating your throw pillow colors. Since the weather is getting cooler, the family tends to spend more time indoors so cozy up.
The living room sofas as well as your plush chairs can be decorated with throw pillows in fall hues, patterns, and shapes. These comfy accessories will, no doubt, add visual interest in the living room. Shades of orange, red or gold will add that needed comfy glow.
If the throws and blankets were stored for an entire year, then it’s time to bring them out. Put them in use together with your hand-woven throws.
A bolder statement would be to use a bright throw that will contrast your neutral sofa. When you’re out to host a movie night, be sure to bring out some blankets and extra pillows.
Another way to prepare for fall is to layer your area rugs. Layering the rugs an add texture and colors to a usually bland floor. The extra layers will also ensure that your feet won’t feel cold.
Fall means you also have to prepare the fireplace for the cooler weather. This must have gotten dusty during spring and summer so it’s time to clean it up.
Have a contractor check the gas-related hazards such as smells or leaks. If you have a wood-burning stove, then be sure to have an expert inspect before you light the fire. Once the inspections and cleanups are done, then you’re ready to light that beautiful fireplace.
Fall is also the season to let go of your summer shades. You may have highlighted your bamboo shades or bright yellow curtains but now’s the time to settle down. Trade those sheer curtains for thicker and darker window treatments.
Use rich draperies with patterns that depict the colors of fall. Chocolate and gold colors can add vibrancy to the living spaces.
Fall means you will be having a shorter daytime. This means daylight needs to be replaced by another light source. When darkness falls, light up those scented candles all around the house. Your candlelit atmosphere should even help relieve stress after spending a long day at the office.
Fall also means prepping your patio. Do not forget that your outdoor spot should also reflect what’s happening indoors. The transition to fall design must also be seen as a go signal to cozy up your deck or patio.
Prop some comfy throws on dining chairs to make your outdoor meals more exciting. To complete the seasonal warmth, make sure to dress up the dining table with leaves, acorns, and a table runner that comes in a warm hue.
As to your bedroom, it’s also time to swap the summer bedding for thicker, heavy-duty thermal blankets and comforters. Save hundreds of dollars as you snuggle under these thick bedding.

Featured furniture: The Willa Dining Table Base from the Fusion Collection: The pops of color in this room include the plates, the vase of flowers, and the cushioned dining chair.
Having an instant pizzazz in a space is a must especially when you have a mainly neutral-colored room. While neutral hues are the safest way to dress up your home, they could become bland-looking. So, add a blush of pink somewhere or a pop of green or blue.
Electric Blue
This exciting shade of blue used to be a color that was used to depict strong emotions in the ‘80s. Back then, it means super awesome or bad ass. While the definition of this color can be varying, it is most often considered to be a relative of cyan.
Cyan is represented as the very color of lightning. So you can say, electric sparks or electrical discharges, even the ionized air glows happening during those electrical discharges could all mean electric blue.
The first time that electric blue was referred to as a color was in 1845. The 1890s Vogue even featured this electrifying color.
There are also different shades of electric blue. French electric blue, for instance, is most popular in, you guessed right – France.
Iridescent electric blue is metaphoric. Medium electric blue is the kind of electric blue that was used in Vogue in the 19th century. Dark electric blue, on the other hand, is that dark cyan color.
Gold
If you crave a home that is elegant and timeless, then there is no easier way to do it than to add pops of gold. All-year-round, you will welcome guests that would be awed by your glitzy and glamorous home.
Gold accents are the in thing at the moment. They are classy yet trendy. They are from yesterday but also in the now.
Gold chandeliers, when infused in any room, exude elegance. Pick one that is not heavy on any other metal but one that has gold accents with lots of crystals.
Gold can also be used on wall paint, furnishings, and fabrics.
Chartreuse
This may be a pale green color but it is a lot more than a simple color. First, it can actually be used to describe a particularly good meal or a lovely woman.
Historically, chartreuse is French liqueur by Carthusian Monks. This was composed of distilled alcohol with 130 flowers, plants, and herbs.
If you’re looking to paint an accent wall, then this is the color to make heads turn. This colors can both be electric and earthy. It can blend well with oranges, reds, and blues. It is especially wonderful with cobalt or turquoise.
A chartreuse door? Or a chartreuse patterned wallpaper? How about a chartreuse ceiling?
You are sure to add an outdoorsy, mossy feeling to the kitchen if you decide to have a chartreuse floor.
Amber
This color is a hundred-percent Chroma color, meaning, it is situated between two colors, in this case, orange and gold. This hue can also refer to a wide arrange of yellow to orange colors.
There are five sub-hues of amber, with 250 varying shades recognized and seven chief colors – exciting isn’t it?
The most common type is yellow amber. This looks brownish. You can also choose from green amber, red amber, blue amber, and black amber.
Make your kitchen, bathroom or bedroom more exciting yet grounded with this lovely color.
Crimson
This is a deep red shade that is almost purple. This is why it is used to describe a woman who blushed crimson with embarrassment.
Crimson is a majestic, strong color. This used to be a dye produced from the Kermes vermilio. Only the wealthiest people, back in the day, were able to use this color on their garments. This is now a shade that refers to glaring red with a blue tinge.
Crimson is an aggressive color. It is passionate, vibrant, and even deviant. If you don’t want to create a disturbing atmosphere, then learn to subdue it or use it as an accent hue (e.g. crimson chandelier, crimson carpet, or a crimson sofa.

Hooker Furniture Bedroom Boheme Laurier King Panel Bed
There are many unique and beautiful things that make Belgium a country worth visiting. The Grand Place in Brussels is one as are the numerous Art Nouveau architectural features. Their food is also comforting and tasty, and need we say that Belgian chips and chocolates are the best in the world.
The leading mood in Belgian style is luxury even in simplicity. Their homes tend to have very few furniture pieces and zero clutter. Though this is the case, the spaces are often rich. Neutrals are the dominant hues.
Not Too Feminine, Nor Masculine
There are many ways to imagine interior design. With so many patterns and colors, it could get confusing especially if you don’t know a particular style that suits you.
Striking a balance between too feminine (e.g. Shabby chic) and too masculine (e.g. that all black bachelor pad) is now easier with the Belgian interior design showing a more polished look.
Quiet Power
In a Belgian foyer, the contrast of an oversized table with pale walls set against a dark flooring is the right setting to make a statement. A roundtable can double as a buffet for your dining room.
See if you can paint the molding, ceiling, and walls with a cream shade.
Simple, Gracious Living Room
Dress up your living room with a concrete, unstained fireplace. This should highlight the beautiful patina of the natural wood pieces. Add white, tufted chairs, cream window treatments, and beige carpeting.
To create depth, add some glazed urns and some vintage-looking cutting boards. A French console should complete the look.
Textured Dining Room
For your Belgian dining room, add some unexpected textures with raw wood and worn-looking dining set. Have some unique mirrors set up. The more antique-looking, the better.
Though you may hold casual meals, you can still set the dining table with wine glasses, pewter pitcher, and bowls.
Simplified Kitchen
The Belgian kitchen embodies simplified, clean living. It would be beautiful to find untreated cypress ceiling. The kitchen counter can be made of marble and the dining table or work counter can be made of hardwood.
Industrial materials are also welcome inside a Belgian kitchen. Steel will look great as a contrasting element to dark wood tones. Uses metal tiles for the backsplashes.
Intriguing Master Bedroom and Bath
Use an antique door as a headboard to make the master bedroom more interesting. This trick will not just make the room more unique but it will also take up less space. Add just a few patterned pillows and a pair of comfy chairs and you’re good.
As for the master bathroom, use dark floor tiles. Browns and grays are your go-to hues.
Bright Sunroom
In your Belgian sunroom, be sure to use slip-covered chaises that can be beautifully backlit by rows of windows. Use Belgian linen as window treatments. A light-colored wooden table can be placed between these two beauties.
Comfy Family Room
The Belgian style book is brimming with comfort so it would be wrong to deprive your family room of it. A Belgian family room should be inviting and comfortable with lots of comfy furniture pieces.
Have a French door open to your media zone. These doors can be the main focus in the family room or it could help frame a more appealing focal point which can be a high-backed sofa or a heavy wooden center table.
European Landing
As for your Belgian stairway landing, you could experiment with outdoor half shutters. Add botanicals to make the room scream Belgian. There are, after all, numerous garden and nature sights to go to in that beautiful country.
What could be more European-looking than these?

Learn to layer the different colors as well as the other design elements that you would include.

Yes to Wood
More so, solid wood furniture.
Solid wood is an element of every Indian home. Invest in durable wood pieces if you want to copy an authentic Indian interior design. Pick traditional pieces complete with carved legs, armrests, and inlay work in ivory or metal.
Have one or a pair or ornate centerpiece then complement them with understated furniture pieces. There is a huge selection of Indian furniture to choose from like footstools, wooden chests, and bird cages.
You should also add a decorative cabinet or two. Keep in mind that Indian cabinets are a fusion of function and aesthetics. Find pieces that have embellishments and wood inlay working such as metal, stones or mirrors.
Informal Setting
While Indian interior design is vibrantly elegant, there should always be a spot where family members and visitors are able to spend a laidback evening. These informal spaces are there for interaction. Use sofas, high chairs or diwan (Hindi term for divan).
Colorful Fabrics
And handspun as much as possible. India, after all, is known for its historical and beautiful handspun fabrics.
There are also a lot of ways to creatively decorate your home with these exciting fabrics. They can be used as flowing drapes for your windows. They can also become the canopies to four-poster beds, or just simple sheets for you to sleep on.
Other textiles such as silk can also be considered.
The more intricate the patterns are on these fabrics, the more Indian they would look like. Motifs and patterns are also features of every Indian fabric. There are Indian versions of the paisley patterns, mandala motifs, and bird, flower, and animal symbols.
Paintings and Statuary
There is a huge selection of Indian artistic styles. Just imagine the Rajasthani miniatures, the Tanjore golf-leaf paintings, and the Madhubani paintings and you know just how colorful and awesome Indian art is.
Huge paintings can become your centerpieces. The smaller pieces, on the other hand, can be grouped to create a unique gallery wall. This would automatically become your accent wall.
Scenic Views
And what is an Indian home without the scenic views? An interior design that is deeply rooted in Indian culture, architecture, and traditions is a style that makes good use of nature. While the home may offer a palatial feel, it is common to find potted green plants inside. The colossal columns are also dramatized with stencil designs and some hanging plants.
The exotic windows also look out to a lush garden that’s filled with spices and herbs.
