Hooker Furniture Bedroom Boheme Laurier King Panel Bed
There are many unique and beautiful things that make Belgium a country worth visiting. The Grand Place in Brussels is one as are the numerous Art Nouveau architectural features. Their food is also comforting and tasty, and need we say that Belgian chips and chocolates are the best in the world.
The leading mood in Belgian style is luxury even in simplicity. Their homes tend to have very few furniture pieces and zero clutter. Though this is the case, the spaces are often rich. Neutrals are the dominant hues.
Not Too Feminine, Nor Masculine
There are many ways to imagine interior design. With so many patterns and colors, it could get confusing especially if you don’t know a particular style that suits you.
Striking a balance between too feminine (e.g. Shabby chic) and too masculine (e.g. that all black bachelor pad) is now easier with the Belgian interior design showing a more polished look.
Quiet Power
In a Belgian foyer, the contrast of an oversized table with pale walls set against a dark flooring is the right setting to make a statement. A roundtable can double as a buffet for your dining room.
See if you can paint the molding, ceiling, and walls with a cream shade.
Simple, Gracious Living Room
Dress up your living room with a concrete, unstained fireplace. This should highlight the beautiful patina of the natural wood pieces. Add white, tufted chairs, cream window treatments, and beige carpeting.
To create depth, add some glazed urns and some vintage-looking cutting boards. A French console should complete the look.
Textured Dining Room
For your Belgian dining room, add some unexpected textures with raw wood and worn-looking dining set. Have some unique mirrors set up. The more antique-looking, the better.
Though you may hold casual meals, you can still set the dining table with wine glasses, pewter pitcher, and bowls.
Simplified Kitchen
The Belgian kitchen embodies simplified, clean living. It would be beautiful to find untreated cypress ceiling. The kitchen counter can be made of marble and the dining table or work counter can be made of hardwood.
Industrial materials are also welcome inside a Belgian kitchen. Steel will look great as a contrasting element to dark wood tones. Uses metal tiles for the backsplashes.
Intriguing Master Bedroom and Bath
Use an antique door as a headboard to make the master bedroom more interesting. This trick will not just make the room more unique but it will also take up less space. Add just a few patterned pillows and a pair of comfy chairs and you’re good.
As for the master bathroom, use dark floor tiles. Browns and grays are your go-to hues.
Bright Sunroom
In your Belgian sunroom, be sure to use slip-covered chaises that can be beautifully backlit by rows of windows. Use Belgian linen as window treatments. A light-colored wooden table can be placed between these two beauties.
Comfy Family Room
The Belgian style book is brimming with comfort so it would be wrong to deprive your family room of it. A Belgian family room should be inviting and comfortable with lots of comfy furniture pieces.
Have a French door open to your media zone. These doors can be the main focus in the family room or it could help frame a more appealing focal point which can be a high-backed sofa or a heavy wooden center table.
European Landing
As for your Belgian stairway landing, you could experiment with outdoor half shutters. Add botanicals to make the room scream Belgian. There are, after all, numerous garden and nature sights to go to in that beautiful country.
What could be more European-looking than these?
