Uttermost Accessories Blossom In Yellow Hand Painted Art 34350
What do you picture when you hear about the summer season? Your mind might instantly conjure the pictures of barbecues that ruin your diet and beach sunburns. These are reasons to not frolic under the sun. You will surely agree, though, that there are more benefits to this season.
For starters, the summer season is vacation season. This is a wonderful time to take your long deserved vacay with your family. You will surely have an improved mood by the time that you go back home. This is the best time to de-stress.
The summer season also brings with it a lot of opportunities to enjoy beach activities. Heart attack survival rate improves during this season. Sweat some more and you free your skin of fungi and bacteria.
Okay, now that you know the benefits of being drenched with the summer sun, it’s time to also prepare your home for this season’s arrival. The first step to all your summer prep in your home is to choose a color scheme that’s most suitable for the season.
Cobalt Blue
The experts have spoken. This is a flamboyant color that can make a statement without looking too brash. Ghislaine Viñas, an interior designer, says this color is best for home offices because it is sure to raise productivity.
Begin using cobalt blue in a small room then play with its different shades as you go from one room to the next.
Sunny Yellow
You would never go wrong with this sunshiny color. This is a bright color that exudes happiness. Just look at yellow and you would surely smile.
Yellow accent pillows inside the bedroom can be paired with blue bedding. Make this hue pop even more as you pair it with neutral colors like white or gray.
Neon Yellow
If sunny yellow is still too tame for you, then you can use neon yellow instead. This is the most amazing mood lifter. Go all out by painting one wall as an accent wall. Do this and you have just added a punch to your interior design.
Chartreuse
Another shade of yellow that you can use during summer is chartreuse. Try it on your throws, accent pillows, even some lighting fixtures. Pendant lighting in this color should be like looking at lemon sherbet – it’s cool and it’s exciting at the same time.
Crisp White
Think of Santorini in Greece and you would think of whitewashed homes, clothesline upon clothesline with white sheets being aerated.
The key here is to use white as the neutral background. You then accessorize using accent pieces in any color.
You can just come up with a monochromatic design which envelops the room in all white.

Coral
Where do you think you would be able to use this hue? This is no less than the sea’s most vibrant hue so use it as a statement shade.
Accessories are best displayed in this color. This means you can use it on your pillows or the throws displayed at the foot of your bed.
Hot Pink
Pink is an awesome shade, hot pink, most especially. This is a hue that can help add impact inside your home. It is not as basic as baby pink yet it still pairs with any other color that symbolizes summer.
Magenta
From hot pink, now you can use magenta. This vivid hue spells happiness and carefree summer months. Claire Paquin, also an interior designer, suggested that you use it on the seats or on the drapes. Be sure to harmonize throughout the room.
Outdoors, you can use magenta to balance and even enhance the greeneries.

This Glass Top Table from FFDM’s Summer Home Collection reflects what summer should be – light and super laidback.
It is almost summer! This is an exciting season for a lot of people because this is the time to get out and do some physical activities, get lots of doses of Vitamin D, and have picnic with friends and loved ones. This is also a wonderful time to redecorate your home.
Go, Go Green
Summertime is the best season to store those heavy rugs and just enjoy your bare hardwood flooring. Use a lot of flowers and greeneries so that your home will have a more casual, airy, and bright feel.
Let’s Party
Summertime is also the time to invite guests over and enjoy the breezy atmosphere on your deck or that long, unused area by the pool.
Have bunches of flowers displayed, set up those lanterns and bring out buckets upon buckets of ice. You are set to enjoy a lot of fun moments with your loved ones so better prepare.
Say your backyard isn’t that huge to accommodate a lot of chairs and tables, then just have these pieces moved to the grassy lawn. Don’t hesitate, just do it. This should show how casual and laidback your personality is.
As for night get-togethers, you can take advantage of the hot summer evenings by adding patio lanterns, graphic-patterned placemats and napkins for a more breathtaking outdoor dining.
Prep the Bar
Oh, the bar would really, really, really be busy this summer season. So go ahead and stock up on spirits. Whip up mojitos and your fave mai tai and entertain your guests with ‘em. And while you’re at it, why not stoke the flames of the fireplace nearby. Add a coral replica near the fireplace for a more coastal feel.
Embrace the Cottage Look
Imagine coming in to a cottage-ey entryway. Set up a wooden credenza in that area and display your summer-themed items such as green bottles, vintage fan, cute sailboats, pitchers and pictures of the beach.
Place a bowl of fresh fruits on that credenza to complete the look.

Everything Bright and Colorful
Have your tongue-and-groove paneling whitewashed. That should give the room an airier, cleaner look. Add some of the most colorful throw pillows that you’ve had in storage to up the summery mood in the living room.
In the bedroom, pair white bedding with wood bedframe. This is a lovely look for summer. Just add a colorful throw pillow plus a bouquet of freshly-picked flowers and you’re good.
Think sunny.
Swap the graphic, bigger pieces with vibrant-colored dishes and fresh flowers in glass vases. Find hues that are light and soft, even shimmery.
Yes to Nautical
What could be more summery than those nautical stripes? They are basically screaming summer.
Those striped slipcovers paired with a striped area rug should give your feet a more relaxed, nautical feel. Of course, have the furniture ensemble in white or varnished wicker to achieve a more relaxed look.
Easy-Breezy Color Palette
Say yes to a lot of grays and pale blues, none of those heavy, dark hues for now. Use white slipcovers during the entire summer season. Bleach them and use ‘em. They will even help you double the lifespan of your precious sofa.
Find an Ikat-patterned furniture piece to make the space more interesting. Ikat is an awesome dyeing technique to create unique textile patterns.
Mind the Coffee Tables
Be sure to decorate your coffee tables with things that remind you of summer. Pepper ‘em with fresh roses, your seashell collection, even an interesting sea fan.
Go Bohemian
The vibrant colors that are distinctly bohemian are perfect for your summer interior design. Mix flowers, patterns, hand paintings, and other cheerful stuff.
Bohemian is not chaotic, okay. This is just a place where the artistic mind could have a free rein. This is a spot where you’re not afraid to mix hues and brighten things up a bit. And, yes, this is the perfect look for your summer interiors.

Summer Home Collection by FFDM: Featured here is the Poster King Bed.
Okay, so spring is about to come to an end and summer is just about to break forth. The summer home can be a place relaxation, reflection, retreat, quiet and peace. While this is the case, it can also be the hub of exciting activities especially since summer is the season for water sports and vacations.
Summer Is Bright
Summer is a season for bright color trends or it can simply be white. A warmer weather spells moments when people would spend more time cleaning and uncluttering.
A pure white color palette is clean, crisp and refreshing. Bathrooms and kitchens could use white on tiles and cabinetry. Say no to clutter and oversized furniture.
No to Patterns, Yes to Tonal Palette
Say goodbye to energetic patterns. Summer is the time to embrace tonal palette with very minimal use of patterns. People are going to be busy this summer so you must be able to create a place of calm and relaxation.
Your body isn’t the only one that should rest this coming season. Your eyes must also be able to rest as they behold the design elements in your home.
Swap throw pillows or curtains with busy patterns with elements that are more solid and textured. Remember to keep your colors within the same hue family.
Display Spirited Sculptures
Add a different level of appeal in your home by displaying a statement sculpture. This is an ideal trend during summer because is spells a carefree and whimsical attitude.
Summer is all about having fun and celebrating. Pick a sculpture that will surely magnetize the visitors’ eyes.
Paint the Concrete Tiles
These are quickly becoming more widespread. These tiles often show intricate patterns and they are sold in a number of stores.
These tiles work best inside a traditional setting but with the right elements, it can also be used in a modern setting.
Go Boho Chic
Midcentury furniture is slowly making a comeback in homes. Designers now mix Midcentury and Modern pieces together with Moroccan or Bohemian-inspired pieces.
Trendy Pools
One of the biggest trends in the past years are pool parties. These are no longer just for the suburbs anymore. Swimming pools are now being integrated to outdoor spaces – no matter how small.
Even small outdoor spaces can be opportunities to create a sense of relaxation and intimacy.

Still from the Summer Home Collection, here is the lovely Landscape Mirror made more summer-y by the rooster figurines and other colorful elements.
Muted + Natural
Summer is setting the path for muted palettes and fresh materials. Organic shapes are also in according to some well-known designers. Anything that’s breezy and bright will never feel boring. So go ahead and embrace this trend and painting your walls with a neutral hue. Sand hue is perfectly embodied in Sonoma Clay 1242 by Benjamin Moore.
Pop a Little Color
Summer bring with it a lot of bold sounds, flavors and sights. Don’t fear bright and bold colors this upcoming season. Those who shy away from the boldest trends might as well use small pops.
A wonderful example of this is when you use a red chair and let it sit in a mainly neutral room. The color is just enough to be noticed but not in a way that’s intimidating.
Another way to bring the color in is to let in the yellows, blues, oranges, and reds of Mother Nature. Sandy hue is also appropriate for this season.
Brass Is Trendy
The year 2017 is a wonderful year for the reintroduction of brass. Use this lovely metal in interior finishes. Go ahead and be obvious with nautical elements. Let go of your non-metallic furniture knobs and replace them with brass instead. A white dresser would surely be noticed once you install brass knobs.
Finish the look by adding lamps, your collections, knickknacks, and a mirror.

Summer is all about relaxation and reveling in the season. You get to use cooler interior color palettes plus you get to a respite from the formal look. With casual interiors come summer décor and thoughts of evening breezes and warm, sunny outdoors. See how you can use these summer décor ideas in your home –
Furniture: Screaming for Airiness
Everything that’s dark and muted is the right thing to use during fall or winter. The colors of summer are different in such that they are light and airy. It would be correct to use removable slipcovers, colorful decorative throws that bring brightness and pigments into your home.
The greatest finds for this season can be found in FFDM’s Summer Home Collection.
If you prefer neutrals, then use khaki or white slipcovers because these are the most casual that you could use to dress up your usually formal throw pillows.
Window Treatments: Instruments in Achieving Picturesque Views
If you want to feel the cool night air while keeping the blistering heat of the sun from entering your home, then use curtains. Draperies have dark and heavy materials while sheer curtains are versatile and could be flexibly used during the summer months.
Having lovely outdoors views are things that you can savor during these warm months so do not try to cover them up. Use valances to keep the windows as a picture frame that offers amazing views at all times.
Valances also come in delicious summer colors and textures.
Bring Nature Inside Your Home
Bringing the outdoors is also a wonderful idea if you can’t keep your windows open all the time. Summer, after all, is all about the feeling of being outdoors so you might as well bring in some fresh fruits and use them as centerpieces. Potted green plants and flowers in beautiful glass vases are sure to make your home smell wonderful while also looking very pretty.
For a more rustic vibe, you can use green materials such as hemp, bamboo, or jute. Woven, colorful area rugs are most welcome as these bring in an exotic feel to your home.
Keep in mind, though, that actually entertaining people outside is a welcoming break that most people look forward to. If the idea of open windows doesn’t exactly excite you then you can always buy a painting or any wall décor that you would love to look at. Again, summer is all about spontaneity and being flexible.
Get Ready for Some Kiddie Action
Summer means kids are out of school which also means that they are going to be around the house a lot. Make sure slipcovers and fabrics used are machine washable. These are fun and casual so you won’t have to worry too much about their upkeep.
Summer also means arts and crafts so get ready to pick some pine cones, seashells, and many nature-inspired finds. Such projects can also be turned into summer décor which you can use proudly in your home.
Sunshine Yellow and Cheerful Orange
Hands down, the happiest colors that you could find to use in your summer theme are orange and yellow. Both colors remind us of the sun, pretty flowers, even citrus fruits. They can grab the attention of any person especially if you want a certain room to stand out.
Different interiors come with different lighting and the lack of lighting means you have to use bolder colors sparingly. The brightest and boldest colors can easily overwhelm any space more so a compact one so be sure to use color swatches before you actually paint a wall yellow or orange. There is also a wide selection of these colors in different tones so take your time before you finalize your selection.
