What kitchen doesn’t need a cabinet? Hooker Furniture Dining Room Sanctuary Dining Cabinet Hutch is great for eat-in kitchens.
As the old saying goes – the kitchen is the heart of every home. This is the place where birthday cakes are baked (or at least decorated), the turkey is carved, or Christmas dinner is served. This can also be the place where family secrets are spilt. What good can a kitchen do when no kitchen planning has been done, though?
Functional and Aesthetic Kitchen Planning
In every aspect of life, it pays if one has a pertinent plan. This concept is also applicable to building or renovating a kitchen. Kitchens should be practical so you have to plan for that initially. This can be reflected from the breakfast bar to the bin placement down to the practical things and where they are stored.
Kitchen islands that come with bar stools are essentials in all modern kitchens. Called breakfast bars, they are the best way to separate your kitchen from the rest of the living area.
Parents could cook dinner while watching over their kids who are doing their homework. Friends can also visit and enjoy a glass of wine as the host cooks at arm’s length. Adding a breakfast bar to your kitchen should also include an island overhang. This offers ample legroom for those who are seated on the bar stools. About 12 to 19 inches of overhang at the back side of the kitchen island should be comfortable enough.
Next, you need to plan for the placement of the sink and dishwasher. This is essential if you want to avoid dripping grease on your kitchen flooring. Be sure to place the dishwasher at about arm’s length from the sink. This is so when you rinse off excess food from the plates, you can just place them straight away into the dishwasher.
If both are misplaced, then you will have to travel all the way across to the other side of the kitchen. You will then be left with a dirty floor – and, of course, no one enjoys mopping dirty floors.
Properly install the kitchen bin where food scraps will go. It has to be at a place that is most accessible from any point in the kitchen. Place it at the end of the island or bench which is closest to the kitchen door. When placed this way, you can just throw something to the bin when you walk past the kitchen or when you are busy cooking something.
These days, storing the kettle and the toaster on the kitchen bench isn’t the in thing to do anymore. The trend is to hide as many appliances as you can (especially the bulky ones). Cupboards should house your electrical sockets. Install more than one double socket since most homes are using a lot of appliances all at once every day. Just imagine the appliances that you use in the morning – the coffee machine, food processors, toaster, etc. – and you’d be overwhelmed at the number of sockets that you would need.
Lighting is also another important part if kitchen planning. Since this place is prone to accidents, then it is but fitting that it should have ample illumination. Just imagine all the things that could injure you there – from sharp knives, hot plates to the gas stove…
Combine ceiling lights with under cabinet lighting. Pendant lights should also be installed as should down lights. General lighting should be able to illuminate the whole space. All these lights should eliminate any dark shadows in corners.
Consider which part of the kitchen needs the most amount of light. Are you the type that stays up late to entertain guests? Or do you like to cook or bake alone? Whatever kind of kitchen user you are, planning is essential so make time for it.

Nothing beats the fresh air from the countryside. RayLen Vineyards Collection features this drawer cabinet with mirror.
House prices are breaking records each year, driving city dwellers to the countryside. Those who work and lived most of their lives in the city now have to face the great decision of whether or not to move more affordable places, the most obvious choice being the rural areas.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Country Living
Unlike the housing prices in cities, the regional ones are at a much slower pace. It could be a struggle to live away from the metropolis at first but there are benefits to embracing the rural life. First, if you love the smell of fresh air and freshly-cut grass, then you would find joy in rural living. There are also many wide open spaces.
While these fresh amenities offer the best environment to you and your family, there is always the fact that your property will not appreciate just as much as the city properties. If you are looking into buying a rural home as an investment, then that won’t be a sound investment that you are going to make there.
Moving to the countryside becomes a positive thing if you have decided to stay permanently. Before you make your decision, though, you have to make sure that you are ready to face rural life and all the responsibilities that come with it. Keep in mind that it becomes difficult to go back to city living once you have uprooted your family.
Another reason to move into the rural areas is that you will have the chance to live a stress-free life. City living could be toxic since you always have too much on your plate. If you’re tired of living in such a way, then relax and embrace rural living. Wait for the evening to unfold and you will hear nothing but the sound of crickets. During the sunrise, you’ll hear bees and the singing birds.
A downside to country living, yet again, is getting bored. If you are the type that gets easily bored, then you will surely find rural life boring. If the sound of silence gets a little too much to bear, then find out where the nearest art galleries, restaurants and theatres are. You can plan your break from rural living by visiting any of these.
Don’t equate rural living to farming right away. Most would think that they would raise their own food once they buy the rural property. The thought of harvesting fresh eggs, eating clean meat and having your own supply of vegetables is just the tip of the iceberg. The reality in this situation is that it is difficult to get up in the morning, feed the chickens, weed the plants and clean up the entire rural property.
Before you invest, again, think ten times if you are ready to move into the countryside. Perhaps your system just wants to have a rest from the busy turmoil of city dwelling, the traffic and the general white noise all around you. While the greeneries could help, you might be the type who does not want to become isolated from friends so just plan for a short vacation if this is the case.
A New Home, Career and Interior Design
Life will still go on when you move to your rural home so plan for what you would be doing to earn money there. You could be retiring soon or are looking into shifting to another career. Technological advances now make online work available to a lot of people. See if you can have one of such jobs.

A home office such as this is a neat freak’s haven. Furniture set comes from the Brookhaven Collection of Hooker Furniture.
Has someone ever noticed that you arrange your books by color inside your shelves? They laugh at how organized you are but you have a deeper secret – they’re also arranged according to genre. You belong to the type of people who want to run their homes as they would a military – everything has to be in order or your day just wouldn’t be the same. Yet there is just so much clutter that can make even the tidiest homes, well, untidy. If you want to make a sense out of the messy world that the rest of the population lives in, here are some storage tips for all you neat freaks –
Every Little Thing Can Be Cleaned Up
To have a sense of fulfillment at the beginning of your day, you can start by making your bed. This simple act of plumping the pillows, putting them back near the headboard and carefully folding the blanket and bed sheet, can make a huge difference in jump starting your day.
Now take a look at the bottles and jars inside the cupboard and see if some of them have long been empty.
While for some it is true that out of sight is out of mind, in your case, it may not necessarily be true. A true blue neat freak knows that there is always something to clean up. This philosophy simply won’t apply to you at all. Even that cupboard door that keeps the clutter from spilling over is simply not tidy till it’s been emptied.

Imagine all the stuff that you can store in this wooden drawer. Featured furniture is from FFDM’s Vintage Classics.
Organizing Your Stuff
If some people are happy collecting stamps, the neat freak is happiest when she sees that her home neat and well-organized. Check the drawers in her home and you would immediately notice how stuff are color-coded and folded neatly.
A tidy wardrobe is also a stress reducer for neat freaks but this can also be a positive thing that others should follow. You can decrease the amount of time that you dress up if you have a well-organized closet to begin with. You get to save time because you also know where to look for a specific outfit.
The neat freak does not automatically classify stuff as clutter. In fact, she can also share her collections by displaying them. What matters to her is that they are all organized.
A Neat Freak’s Best Friend
If there are girls that collect bottles of different perfumes and you see them arranged on their vanity tables, then the neat freak also has her own products to stack. While she also knows the value of beauty, to her, it is a lot more than looking and smelling great. Cleaning products are a lot more important – especially disinfectants – as they can make homes free from dirt.
Another best friend?
Any storage unit such as a shelf, closet or drawer.
The Neat Freak’s Enemy
That family member who is a perennial bringer of chaos need not become your enemy. These minds, though they have wallowed in mess for so many years can still be educated. Tidying can be instilled especially among youngsters. Tell them that you will feel most comfortable in a place that is organized.
Be open; try to make every family member understand.
What If They Don’t Understand?
Untidy minds can be a bit difficult to educate and, sometimes, even your best efforts might not pay off. What you can do so far is just to lead by example. It could get upsetting if your tidy world is suddenly turned upside down by both human and animal activity. When this happens, just shrug it off, chant your little mantra, and just show everyone that you are tidying up.
Even the most committed neat freaks can become weak at some point. Let these inconsistencies remind you that it’s okay to break the rules of tidiness at times. After all, little Ms. Neat Freak, you’re still human.

A lot of dog owners consider their pets to be part of their family. If you think this isn’t enough, then go one step further by putting dog display pieces all over your home. Before you start thinking that this is a corny theme, read on. Many pet owners who are also homeowners succeeded in using this theme. They have successfully incorporated dog decor with grace, style, and most of the time, with a great sense of humor.
Your Dog Is the Star
Remember that the star of the show is your beloved pooch. This should give your pet the needed confidence booster. A photo of your dog (whether solo or with the family) can be framed and placed in major areas of your home. Mister Brownie’s photo can also be printed on canvas.
I.M. David Bar and Game Room Dog Barstool 6694D
Every pet – especially a dog – wants to feel that he is needed so make him help further in the kitchen by putting accessories there. A doggy-themed kitchen could make you want to work, work, work just as hard as your little pet does.
Love Everyone
It is not fair to play favorites. You will be able to represent each pet by putting up wallpaper complete with doggie designs. No matter what breed of dogs you are taking care of, the wallpaper should represent each one of them.
A doggie wallpaper would look just as great in a black-and-white bedroom which is adjacent to the sitting area in monochrome. If your little kid is fond of his dog, then have photographs of them displayed in your home. See if you can also set up a bedroom where your little one could sleep with his favorite pet.
The Couch Is For Everyone
You are your dog’s universe so there’s nowhere in the world where he would be than to snuggle with you as you watch your favorite TV programs. Canine-themed cushions drive the point that there are no boundaries for your love. The couch is also your pet’s special place – a place where he can sit and snuggle with you.
Sharing the couch is a way of giving your pet a sense of pride. Give visitors a good laugh as they see the cushions covered with your dog’s pictures. In a way, the dog is presiding over your social gatherings when you do this – and that is truly sweet.
Set Up a Leather Bed
If you have your bedroom, then your dog has to have his own sleeping spot, too. He has to be as comfortable as you. As a pet owner, you can remodel your living space to accommodate all of your pet’s sleeping, eating, and play needs.
It is a common notion that having a pet is destructive on your furniture. This may be partly true for those who are not able to control or discipline their pets.
It is possible to have beautiful home while owning a pet, too. The key is to find the right materials to use on your pets; materials that are human-friendly, too.

Miles Talbott Accessories Dog Bed JR-3044-O: What could be more relaxing for your pet than to laze around in his own bed?
Be Responsible
At the end of the day, it all boils down to you being responsible for your dog. If you have a shedder, then be sure that you have the time to vacuum regularly. Hairballs can become visible in the long run.
Take care also of pet odor. This will attract dirt because the odor is actually emitted oil. You’ll have to bathe and groom your dog often. Trim his nails so he won’t go scratching upholstery and the floor. Brush and bathe him to remove any loose hair.
Learn to use stain-resistant fabrics as well. Say goodbye to chintz, silk, especially velvet. These are the best hair magnets in town. Discover the joys of owning furniture with Crypton fabrics. You’ll soon wonder how you lived without ‘em for a long time.

The name floating furniture is given to objects that seem to hover above the floor as they are installed or placed in an available space. There are clever ways to do this. Such design tricks make use of the best kinds of wood, magnets, metal, and quality furniture.
Floating furniture is also smart-looking. It is the kind that you would use in a contemporary setup as it evokes an appearance of minimalism. This kind of furniture also saves space which makes tidying up a lot easier. It also enhances feelings of expansiveness whether you are in an indoor or outdoor setting.
Ways to Incorporate Floating Furniture
It’s time to levitate! Floating buffets are a modern version of the Mid-century sideboard. This is the kind of furniture that allows optimization of your corner space. It can also provide cabinets and drawers for functional storage. It is also an effective ornamental display but one that does not eat up a lot of space.
Floating buffet is simple and light; air can even flow freely underneath it and all around your home. The more space that you free up, the more expansive your home would look like. The rule here is simple – the more floor is seen, the larger a room would appear.
A floating console is the perfect spot for you to leave your sunglasses, keys, mobiles and knickknacks. This should be situated at the front entrance of your home. The wood grain of this furniture would be most elegant against a white backdrop as well as dark wood flooring.
Floating furniture will give you and your guests the illusion of a hovering piece in your living space. This can include long floating cabinets that can mimic the very shape of the room. Only a furniture or two actually touches the floor which provides the zero gravity sense.
You won’t even have any difficulty vacuuming the space since the floor is free and the furniture pieces are all off the floor.
Vanities can make small bathrooms seemingly large. This piece of furniture achieves just that as there’s so much space on either side of the vanity table and underneath it. Your color palette should be subtle yet complementary for a more contemporary feel.
Remember the rule when it comes to heavy and light furniture. Every piece that is heavy and is laid on the ground is often traditional. The smaller ones that are positioned above the ground will make any place more modern. There will also be plenty of bench space and storage for occupants of the latter. Plus, medicine cabinets and shelves that are cleverly installed above will also add to the spaciousness of your home.
The kitchen island can also be made to float. This can be used for different purposes including food preparation, dining, working, reading or it can be a place for kids to do their projects and homework.
This is also an informal place where people can lounge about during casual dinner or cocktail parties.
A dining table may also be made to float from the bench with the same material. This should evoke a feeling of solidity. Its informality is balanced by bench seats.
Furniture that seemingly defies gravity can free up a significant number of square footage in your home. Whether they are hanging on wood or suspended because of magnets or metal contraptions; hovering furniture and accessories will always give the illusion of being afloat.
So, do you find floating furniture advantageous to your current situation at home? There are simply too many reasons to use this kind of furniture. No modern enthusiast should go without them.

Living Room Uttermost Naeva Gold End Table 24422 is perfect in a Boho dwelling. Go for shiny metals to boost the Boho charm in your home.
Do you gravitate towards the laidback vibe of the Boho scheme? This is a cohesive look that you can use in your home but if you also feel like including luxurious textiles, metallic accents, and opulent jewels, then nothing’s keeping you from doing so. Boho design is free so it can take flight where you want it to soar.
Boho: A Blend of Glamour and Tranquility
You might think that it’s impossible to achieve both glamour and serenity but these are two characteristics that are both present in Boho. There are many ways to use this look in your home.
First, you simply have to achieve a gallery effect. What is this? This is a bright and airy space where the walls are lined with wall art, photographs and pops of hot pink, turquoise, and indigo hues.
Branches can be used effectively in this kind of design. During pruning season, they are affordable, even abundant. They could last for more than a week so that means a week of having a huge interior design impact. Instead of the usual flowers in vases, why not consider branches the next time?
A sunroom is already an exciting place to begin with. With a burst of color and thrilling patterns, it can become a vintage-inspired room. Add 50s vinyl chairs to complete the look. Sheers can provide the needed separation and privacy.
Creating visual balance is easy with Boho. All you have to do is take a stack of books and place them in sturdy shelves, use white and blue vases for your flowers or indoor plants, and display your collections. Don’t be tempted to bring out all of your collectibles, though, or you would end up with chaos instead of a symmetrical design.
The breakfast nook can be styled in a casual manner by using a rustic table and breadboards. These can be easily contrasted by anything that’s brightly-colored such as a green chairs. Mid-century wine racks will also serve an aesthetic and functional purpose inside this room. Enjoy that morning cup of coffee as you take a careful look at the wine bottles in those racks.
Take your Boho charm a bit farther as you display your collection of rocks or white pottery. Add a lovely painting that is leaning against the wall and you’re just a few steps from finishing.
Wild flowers and weeds can make a difference in your Boho interiors. Indoor organics don’t necessarily have to be flowers or green plants all the time.
Adding wicker furniture with sheepskin is a classic way to achieve the 70s look. This combination spells retro. If white sheepskin is a little too delicate for you, you can also opt for the black or gray sheepskin. It is a foolproof way of ramping up your Boho glam.
Adding a bar trolley is yet another stylish way to cap your Boho interiors. Say no to uniformity. Discard the other pair if you have two lamps, two rugs or two chairs. Then make room for lots and lots of plants. If weeds don’t make you go gaga then just opt for green plants with wide leaves. Macramé plant hangers will also look great.
Mix in some tribal prints inside the bedroom. This is a special room where you can have the relaxed side of Boho. Art Deco stuff is also welcome inside this space. Find a stylish white headboard, piped edging, and a glass-topped bedside table. Ethnic prints bring in a different kind of vibe. Normally, this shouldn’t work but the miracle of Boho is that – it does, it always does.
Are you ready to bring in a unique interior design? Then Boho it is.

Hide the Easter eggs under the comforter, behind the lamp, or even inside the bedside table. Featured furniture pieces are from Fine Furniture Design’s Hyde Park Collection.
Easter eggs are becoming quite popular again with the advent of Easter being celebrated by Christians throughout the world. These eggs are painted or decorated then given away during Easter or springtime. The influence of traditional spring rites is what makes Easter eggs special. Mankind’s relationship with these special eggs is deep-seated especially since the tradition has been handed from one generation to the next.
The Latin proverb omne vivum ex ovo (all life comes from egg) explains why it is a symbol that was eventually linked to the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Eggs are recognized all over the world from India, to Iran, all of Asia, Europe, they are practically everywhere. There are myths from these nations about the universe being created from an egg. There is also the concept of eggs being the emblem of life so many cultures have a deep reverence for them.

Hooker Furniture Home Office Wendover Drawer Unit L.R can hold many Easter eggs. Delight the little ones by them finding them here.
Eggs + Easter
It is highly believed that Easter eggs are pagan symbols. The German version of Eostre – Ostara – was the goddess that Jakob Grimm created in his stories. Another tradition of Easter egg is the Passover Seder where a hardboiled egg is dipped in saltwater is symbolic of brand new life as well as the Passover sacrifice at the temple in Jerusalem.
By the time that the Christians caught up with the tradition, the egg was yet another symbol of life just as a chick could hatch anytime from an egg. The Easter egg hunt ends the season of Lent with children hunting for the painted hardboiled eggs.
If you are tired of going outdoors to play the Easter egg hunt, then it’s time to hide the special eggs to places in your home. Just look all around you – there are artistic pieces and sculptures in your home that can be a sneaky hiding place for the Easter eggs. A stack of toilet paper rolls can easily conceal some Easter eggs. A small chocolate egg would also be nice to hide behind some framed photos.
A place that is visually enticing could result in a lot of overlooked spots, hence, a most effective way to hide Easter eggs. It requires sleuthing skills to look inside holders, for instance.
Surprise the young ones by hiding a piece of unbreakable egg inside the hat’s rim. Put a lot of them in sofas and beds so that the kids could easily reach them. These are also foamed furniture so you won’t have to worry about any safety concerns.
That tissue box inside the bathroom could also conceal some eggs inside. Or you can just slip them inside a few rolled up towels.
Easter egg hunting becomes doubly exciting once you stick the eggs inside coats and boots. This is fine with chocolate eggs but make sure you search for every hardboiled egg as rotten eggs are not great to have inside coat pockets.
As you go to the kitchen, be sure to take advantage of the pantry. Place an egg between the canned goods. Be sure to assist the kids as they search for these hard-to-find eggs so that you won’t have a mishap in your home.
Would you want a more fun surprise? Hide one of the chocolate eggs inside your kid’s box of morning cereal. Can you just imagine the surprised look on his face and his smile as he pours out the cereal and discovers the treasure inside?
Hanging mugs are also great hiding places for Easter eggs as is the refrigerator. Whoever thought of hunting for eggs where they were first stored, right? That’s the beauty of hiding them in the most obvious places.
Get crafty. You can paint the eggs then group them. Relive the tradition as the kids consume the hardboiled or chocolate eggs while you tell the origin of the said tradition.

The Maitland-Smith Accessories Red Dyed Penshell Inlaid Egg Shaped Box 1100-566 isn’t just an Easter but an all-year-round decor.
If you are looking for a character in the Bible that explains how a furry creature came to give away Easter eggs, then you’re search is going to be futile one. The Easter bunny is the most famous creature come the season of Lent and it would be a waste if you let this creature come and go.
Traditions are linked with the resurrection of Jesus Christ but, in essence, they are in no way connected.
The Easter bunny, eggs, Easter gifts and yellow chicks come from pagan roots but were eventually incorporated to Christian Easter celebration in honor of the resurrection of the Lord.
The University of Florida’s Center for Children’s Literature and Culture, the Easter bunny’s origin can be traced all the way back to the 13th century. This was a time when pre-Christians Germans worshipped various gods and goddesses.
The rabbit is a representation or symbol of the Teutonic deity Eostra because of its quick reproductive rate. And Eostra is no less than the goddess of fertility and the eggs, a symbol of productiveness or being highly fertile.
The first documentation of the Easter Bunny was in the 1500s. It was in 1680, the first story of a rabbit-laying egg that hides its eggs in a garden, was published. German immigrants soon carried this tradition to the U.S. in 1700s.
So while you are prepping chocolate bunnies and chicks during Easter Sunday, recall the holiday’s origins and tell your friends about them.
If it’s not a bunny, then it’s an Easter egg. Featured artwork is the Uttermost Accessories Study Of Eggs Framed Art, S4 51082
Creative Use of Easter Bunnies
There are just so many ways that you can hide the Easter eggs so the kids can have more fun looking for them. But there are also ways that you can incorporate an Easter decor in your home and get to celebrate this joyous holiday with your family.
The Easter bunny can do a lot more than look cute. Imagine having a bunny light casting a soft glow to an artwork on your living room wall. Switched on or not, such as specialized lamp will make you want to spend more time inside your living room.
How about hanging a detailed artwork of a rabbit? Perhaps a hare?
Hares are a different breed but the European types are just as lovely as the rabbits. Their acts of leaping have been painted and drawn a million times by many different artists. You might want to take home a little something that reminds you of your little, furry friend.

If it’s not a bunny, then it’s an Easter egg. Featured artwork is the Uttermost Accessories Study Of Eggs Framed Art, S4 51082
You can also use cushions that are in the shape of a seated rabbit. Add a bit of pizzazz in your living room this holiday by placing a rabbit cushion. If square throws are your perennial type, then you can always settle for throw pillowcases with rabbit prints.
Have you also thought of hanging mirrors right across a huge image of a rabbit? This should give your Easter bunny a bold new look. You can also transform a small space by putting up wallpaper with rabbits as design. This can be the cartoon type or the more artistic, brush-stroke filled depiction of a bunny. Abstract representations of rabbits are also a great addition to any home. A hare sculpture will also look nice in its designated corner inside your living room.
Art representation of rabbits does not end in sculptures, wallpapers, wall hangings, or a painting. You can go the extra mile by creating an artwork featuring a colony of rabbits. This should give your visitors a nice topic to talk about!
Setting up a nursery is also more fun if you install wall hangings. The fabric has to be soft which will make it a more appealing material for the bunny images that are on them.
Now wasn’t that fun? Who knew that the Easter bunny interior design could create such excitement?

The best decluttering solution is to have ample storage space for your stuff. This Belvedere piece from Fine Furniture Design is a thing of beauty and function.
Every homeowner knows that there are accessories that can complete a home and there is also clutter. There are pieces that can attract just the wrong kind of attention. These are your visual clutters which can detract instead of add to a home’s magnificence.
You might not have known it but there are accessories in your home that you actually can do without –
Multiple Framed Photos
Have you ever given the walls of your home a second look lately? More often than not, there are mismatched frames that are hung on many walls or are seated on tables. These are those little, cheaply-made photo frames that are so distracting.
Of course, no one’s saying that your family pictures are not important. For most reasons, you are framing them because of sentimental reasons. But instead of cramming all of your family’s vacation photographs, choose the ones that are most memorable, put them in frames that are a lot nicer then display them with a purpose this time.
Create a gallery on one wall or follow what’s already been done in many stylish homes – lining up your staircase with them. It would also be nice to see a console table that is topped with just two or three tastefully chosen framed photographs.
You might ask what you could do with the rest of the frames…well, put them in a donation box (it’s all for a good cause).

Accessories Uttermost Spirula Photo Frames S/2 18566 : If you have to display photos, then do it in a classy way.
Used-to-be-Stylish-Curtains
Did you know that not all rooms need curtains and drapes? There are also so many reasons why you can do without them.
First, it would be tragic to cover beautiful windows of any home. Original woodwork, French windows, and other such beauties would be wrong to cover with thick curtains. Also, if you live in an area right by the woods, then there are definitely rooms in your home that offer a good view of the greenery outside. See those rooms that do not require privacy so you can say goodbye to unnecessary curtains.
Another thing is, have you checked the colors of your curtains recently? Have they been faded by the sun? Are the prints already old fashioned? Or could it be because the curtains are too short for your tall windows?
If any of these rings true, then you might want to experiment with a zero curtain look for awhile. Who knows, you might even enjoy the view more than those times when the windows were all covered up. Should you ever decide to cover the windows up again, try some shutters or bamboo shades for a change.
Plastic Flower Arrangements
There can never be a thing in the world that could replace the beauty of fresh flowers in tasteful vases. Those huge, artificial flowers in your home simply don’t belong there. Plus, there’s that downside of those fake flowers gathering dust in the long run so they can make a place look ugly.
Decluttering is not just applicable to fake flowers but to fake trees as well. Find, instead, those easy-to-grow indoor plants, place a bowl of colorful fruits on the table, or just display a vase of freshly-bought or picked flowers.
Faux flowers just won’t make your home look classy.
Apart from those fake stuff, you can also declutter by removing those stored, cheap glass vases inside your cupboard. Don’t hold on to them. Having three to four elegant vases would be better than keeping ten ugly vases.
‘Nough said.
Those Useless Knickknacks
Sure, accessories can add beauty and personality to your home but having a lot of knickknacks is not interior decorating – it’s hoarding. If you happen to have large collections of which you simply cannot bear to part with, then at least decide to rotate the pieces every now and then.
There is no rule that says you have to display all of your collections at once.
Again, don’t hold on to clutter. There are so many things that you can get rid of now which you think you might need but actually do not so go ahead and make that resolution now.
