Uttermost Living Room Wynter Satin Armless Chair

Elegance isn’t always found in common places. This is an element that’s achieved only when you’re willing to follow a mathematical formula. Though often misconstrued, it has nothing to do with designer labels or conspicuous styles. This is a quality that is elusive.

Elegance can never be bought but it is that something that a lot of people would want in their lives. Are you willing to explore what elegance means in interior design?

Elegance Is Unembellished

Elegance is even seen to be restrained. This is not a style that you can easily turn on or off. This means seeing the good or beauty in the simplest things. It also means the barest yet still beautiful or that one special piece instead of a group of nondescript ones.

Elegance in interior design is somewhat like elegance seen in fashion. It is the refusal to create ornate designs on an already beautiful yet simple piece. Most of the time, elegance goes well with minimalism but these two terms must not be interchanged.

Minimalism is restricted but it is deliberately scarce. Elegance, on the other hand, can still be generous but it looks simple and beautiful at the same time. So, a living room, even when minimally furnished, can still look quite elegant. Without clutter, this can be an inviting and calm setup.

Add comfort and warm colors and textures for maximum effect.

Elegance Is Classic

Elegance will always be considered timeless, it is not trendy, therefore, it won’t come fast and then just as quickly go. Greenery will never go out of style so it can be a huge part of an elegant home.

Veer away from trends if you want to be seen as elegant. But if you’re still aching to be fashionably correct in a contemporary setting, then you can always keep the hottest elements to keep the space fresh looking.

This is still considered elegant.

Elegance Is Detailed

Elegance will always be true to details, after all, the smallest details are the ones that have the power to pull a style together. The details comprise the overall design so be careful with those.

Any dull room can be easily made elegant with just a vase of fresh flowers. But don’t go rushin’ and stuffing the vase with any flower that you can find. Remember the laws of Ikebana or the art of flower arrangement and you’ll be able to create the most stunning floral art.

Elegance Is Sure

Elegance will always be confident. It is never uncertain about its presentation of design elements. You have to be able to find your style even before you begin to stylize your home. This is something that you can do when you know what elements to experiment with or observe.

The design market offers a bazillion options so you have to be confident in choosing the elements that will go into your design. And should you make a mistake, you should be ready to learn from it.

Elegance Is Not Necessarily Pricey

A lot of people often mistake elegance for expensive style. Well, it could be but it can also go the other way.

Elegance doesn’t ask for limitless resources. It knows how to practice restraint in a sea of design elements.

Elegance Is Kempt

Elegance can never co-exist with clutter. The unkempt place will not be able to highlight the beauty of gorgeous pieces.

Elegance Is Also Fun

While elegance requires cleanliness, it is not humorless or perpetually formal. It can leave a lot of room for self-expression as well as frivolity. Imagine combining a timeless fireplace complete with parquet flooring with a unique, red area rug.

It’s a sublime elegant pairing.

Where the Girls Are: How to Design Bedroom for Girls

Thursday, September 1st, 2016

blog-4-capel-incorporated-floor-coverings-hearts-rug-6063rs-pink-creamParents of opposite sex siblings often come to a point in their lives when they contemplate on separating the two from a shared bedroom. How long can they share the said bedroom? At what age is it proper to build a different room for one of them? There are different opinions regarding this topic.

If experts are to be asked, there is no specific age when the cutoff should be. It is best for parents to monitor their children’s individual developments then they can make their decisions from there. More often than not, children who begin attending school also begin to become more aware about the principle of modesty. This is the age when they usually feel uncomfortable changing their clothes in front of their opposite-gender brother or sister.

Know that it would become more difficult for kids to adjust once they reach puberty so design the separate bedrooms as soon as they begin schooling.

The Grown Up Girl Palette

If your concern is how to make a bedroom appear more suitable for a teenager, then you can always deviate from the usual pink palette. There are many other colors to choose from such as a warm chocolate focal wall. This may be experimental but this rich hue will offer a playful aura to a young girl’s room. You can then integrate hot pink to this color scheme by adding sheer curtains, some ottomans that come in a different shade of pink, and a chic floral lamp.

Just be sure to keep the linens neutral-colored so that the boldness of the rest of the colors will be balanced.

Show Much Elegance

Use stylish gray walls together with some adult furnishings. It’s time to shy away from the cartoon character themes. Using regular furnishings will help you keep the bedroom for a very long time. Also, you help your young one transition from a young girl to a teenager.

A Definitive Line of Demarcation

A child’s room often showcases childish sophistication. You can improve from chiefly pink to a lavender playroom slash bedroom. This space should provide ample room for playtime and a restful nook.

Have a settee and a table lamp set up so that your little one could also spend the nights reading some of her books. In doing all these, make sure that you create a clear separation between the playroom, reading nook and the bedroom.  Most of the time, all you’d need is an area rug to separate these spaces.

Stylish Storage

Keep your little one’s space stylish by bringing in more shelves and cabinets. Use narrow shelves to achieve visual interest inside the bedroom. This is also your best way to showcase the young girl’s artwork, books and favorite toys.

Use small wicker baskets for all other organizational needs. ’Wanna be more unique? Use an Indian tepee as a reading nook. Store all the most colorful books there. This is a surefire way to make your little girl swoon with gratefulness.

Added Fun

Most of the modern girls’ bedrooms are no longer just set up for sleeping anymore. This can also be a place where homework can be done. The wall shelves could also be accessed using a painted ladder. Always remember that there should be plenty of storage options and this section could also be filled with buttons, beads, threads, glue, and such. Your little one could then proudly show her cute craft area.

Make the area more exciting by providing the ultimate getaway. Put up a dramatic set of curtains. See if your growing up girl would opt for magenta. The darker the color this time, the more dramatic it is.
