China Cabinet Setup

Now let’s learn how to set up a china cabinet. First, clear the cabinet by removing everything in it. Dust the insides of the buffet then use glass cleaner to remove dust and other dirt from the glass fronts.

Be sure to dust off the drawers, too.

The second step is to organize the items that will be placed inside the cabinet. Give away the stuff that you no longer need then return those that you still want to showcase in your china cabinet.

Begin displaying at the top then work your way down. Group the wine glasses at the top. This layer can also be the spot where the vases are to be placed. Remember that the top layer is for the glassware.

Most china cabinets now have lighting at the topmost shelf so this is why you should place your crystal items up top. Next, add the plates on the second layer. Be sure to lean the plates on the back part of the cabinet or invest in some plate holders.

After organizing the plates, set up the saucers and teacups in front of the plates. Here’s a tip, use a coffee filter between the saucer and the cup so that there won’t be a rattling sound if a lead foot walks past the cabinet.

Lastly, display lovely bowls and jars at the bottom shelf. As for the drawers, have them filled with tablecloths, placemats, and linen napkins. The flatware can also be stored here.
