Granite Bay is a beautiful community in Placer County that is located on the north shore of Folsom Lake and officially gained its title in 1987 as an unincorporated community. The history traces back to the early 1800’s when Granite Bay was known as Allen’s District. During the “Gold Rush” minors used to use the area as a supply line between Auburn and Folsom for their claims along the American River. Now, the town provides refuge for some of the most sophisticated residents in the Sacramento area including celebrities such as actors, athletes, and TV personnel. Granite Bay High School is one of the highest ranking schools in the state, which is most likely a factor in the high values of the surrounding homes.
